We are a Platinum Talkswitch dealer and offer Fast and Free Shipping, Expert Technical Support, setup assistance, customization, upgrades, training, Discount Prices, and more. Our goal is to empower you to use your phone system to its fullest potential. If you have any Talkswitch 280VS questions, please call 1-866-639-2491. Choosing a dealer for your Talkswitch 280VS is a very important decision, technical support is initially handled by the dealer you buy from. We provide expert technical support, typically, we are easier to reach than Talkswitch themselves. We stock and use these products, and offer fast shipment of all in stock items, not 2-3 days later. See our Phone Comparison Chart for a table showing how various Talkswitch phones differ. The Grandstream GXP-2000 Enterprise IP phone(s) in this bundle are the least expensive SIP phone that is auto provisioned by the Talkswitch 280VS. The Grandstream GXP-2000 uses a power adapter, or, POE. It is a multiple call appearance phone when you enable the Talkswitch call waiting feature (not phone company call waiting). Each "line" button functions as a call button (this is more convenient than the way analog phones work), and, there are 11 line buttons. None of the SIP phones allow hands free intercom or paging though, only Talkswitch analog phones can do that. SIP phones are a little more work to install than analog phones, but not too bad. Please note the SIP phones can only be used as local extensions on the same network segment as the Talkswitch. This phone won the "Best of Show" award at the 2005 Internet Telephony Conference. There are two ethernet ports on this phone, one plugs into the wall, the other typically into a computer so you do not need to add additional LAN ports in your wall. The phone can be wall mounted. If you have considered or purchased a Talkswitch system before, check out the new features of software version 4.0. These include IP phone support as local extensions (except the 24-CA), emailed voicemail (not the 24-CA), holiday settings so that you can specify holiday call settings in advance, carrier codes and access permissions for outgoing calls, 2 additional remote extensions for a total of 10, VOIP locations in call cascade for systems with VOIP capability, ring groups can be sent as part of caller ID, and, other improvements.
Talkswitch was named "Best of Show" at the Internet Telephony Conference February 2006, find out why! Business Computing Magazine recognized TalkSwitch telephone systems as one of the Top 50 Business Products of 2005. IT Week Magazine gave Talkswitch the 2005 Product Excellence Award. The Talkswitch 280VS is a new member of the Talkswitch family of products. It is an expandable system. A single Talkswitch 280VS has up to 2 analog phones lines, and 8 analog or IP extensions. You can license an additional 8 IP extensions for a total of 16 extensions. You can hook up to 4 of these together (networked), or, mix and match with the other current Talkswitch models that have a network port. Hooking multiple units together provides an equal number of additional incoming lines, VOIP trunks, local extensions, and remote extensions. Therefore, 4 Talkswitch 280VS hooked together provides 8 analog incoming lines, 32 local extensions, and 40 remote extensions, with the IP extensions license, this increases extensions up to 64 with 4 boxes hooked together. It functions as one phone system. You can program up to 10 remote extensions (off site), these can be cell phones or anything else with a phone number. Talkswitch uses analog phones or SIP phones for local extensions. You can also network a 280VS with any current Talkswitch model with a network port. It is ideal for companies with a small office, wanting a system that can later accommodate VOIP trunk lines, adding on to an existing system where the need is for more extensions instead of more incoming lines, or, where more phone locations are needed as opposed to many incoming lines, perhaps a church for example. The Talkswitch 280VS can be later expanded via an add-on VOIP board to add 4 incoming VOIP trunk lines. This will give you a Talkswitch 284VS.
Surge Protection for your Talkswitch 280VS can be added. The most likely reason your Talkswitch 280VS will fail over time is surge related damage, not necessarily lightning. Power Systems offers guaranteed protection, assuming you hook it up properly, it *will* protect your system. Properly hooked up means the Talkswitch 280VS, the LAN connector, incoming phone line ports, and extension ports that go to powered devices must all be hooked up to the same protector. So, even if you have a UPS, you still need these devices to protect your system. Our system has protection for 4 power cords, 1 LAN connector, and, some number of ports, pick the appropriate number for your system. If for example you pick "4 ports", this means a total of 4 incoming analog lines and analog extensions running to your Talkswitch 280VS. So, "Ports" refers to the total of powered analog extension phones, fax machines, or other analog devices, and, incoming analog lines.
Pretty much, you can expect once setup for the Talkswitch 280VS to run itself. It is a full featured small office phone system, very powerful. There are other auto attendant services you can buy, but it won't take long for you to pay for this system with what they charge. Also, you will have a lot more features that are needed in todays business environment. Unlike the typical PBX system, a Talkswitch does not require a highly paid technician to program and maintain as your business changes! Power Systems provides you the tools you need via our support CD to get up and running.
